What Makes BIG Special

Hedonistic Sustainability

BIG's signature philosophy is "hedonistic sustainability" — the idea that sustainable design can be fun, exciting, and desirable. Rather than treating green design as a sacrifice, BIG creates buildings that are more enjoyable because they are sustainable. Copenhill is the ultimate expression: a power plant with a ski slope on the roof.

VIA 57 West

BIG's VIA 57 West in Manhattan redefined the residential tower. A tetrahedron-shaped building with a central courtyard, it combines the density of a European perimeter block with the height and views of an American skyscraper. The result is a building that feels like a village within a tower.

Google's New Campus

BIG is designing Google's new campus in Mountain View and London. These projects represent the future of tech workplace design — biophilic, sustainable, and community-oriented. The campuses integrate nature, public space, and cutting-edge workspace into a single ecosystem.

Copenhagen to the World

Founded in Copenhagen in 2005, BIG has grown to over 700 employees across offices in Copenhagen, New York, London, Barcelona, and Shenzhen. Despite its global scale, the firm maintains a playful, experimental culture that produces some of the most talked-about buildings in the world.
