Our Methodology

How we research, select, and review companies on LeanPl8 Luxury

Company Selection Criteria

We select companies based on a combination of objective criteria and industry reputation. Not all companies qualify for inclusion. Our minimum standards include:

  • Safety Credentials: For aviation, we require ARG/US, IS-BAO, or Wyvern ratings. For automotive, we verify dealer licenses and insurance requirements.
  • Market Presence: Companies must have a documented track record (typically 5+ years) and a visible market presence.
  • Transparency: Companies must publish pricing, service details, or fleet information publicly. We do not include companies with opaque business models.
  • Customer Accessibility: The company must serve individual customers (not just B2B or institutional clients) or have a clear path for high-net-worth individuals.
  • Geographic Reach: We prioritize companies with national or international coverage over purely local operators, though we include strong regional players in relevant categories.

Data Verification Process

1

Primary Research

We gather data directly from company websites, official filings, press releases, and verified industry databases. We do not rely on user-generated content or unverified third-party sources as primary data.

2

Cross-Verification

We cross-check facts across multiple sources. For example, safety ratings are verified against ARG/US, IS-BAO, and Wyvern databases independently. Fleet sizes are confirmed against FAA registrations or company disclosures.

3

Industry Sources

We consult industry publications, trade associations, and regulatory filings. Sources include FAA, NTSB, NBAA, Hagerty, Kelley Blue Book, and recognized auction houses (RM Sotheby's, Gooding, etc.).

4

Regular Updates

We review and update pages quarterly. High-traffic pages (supercars, private jets, auctions) are reviewed monthly. Each page displays a "Last updated" date.

What We Do Not Do

  • We do not accept payment for placement, rankings, or favorable reviews.
  • We do not publish user reviews without verification.
  • We do not make "best" or "top" claims without published criteria.
  • We do not publish pricing as definitive — all prices are indicative and subject to change.
  • We do not provide investment, financial, or legal advice.

Corrections Policy

We strive for accuracy, but errors occur. If you spot incorrect information, outdated pricing, or missing context, please contact us. We investigate all reports and publish corrections promptly.

When we make a significant correction, we note the change at the bottom of the affected page with the date of correction and a brief explanation.
